who am i

I am a senior in high school on my last day of school and in my whole year that i was in scociology i have leared a whole lot about myself. I know that i like to be outside and i love to go hunting fishing and i love being outside. i know that i am a patriotic and i like to hang out with my freinds i dont really care what other people have to say about me becasue i know that i am my own person and also i shouldnt care what other people should think about me. i think that i know who i am.

"loser" jobs

The “losers” that work in our society’s that work the jobs that other people don’t want to work because they want to be or think that they are better than working at pizza hut or a gas station for minimum wage. I know that the people that work in the small jobs or the “loser” jobs if they quit and just stopped working their jobs the much of the world would go crazy because you couldn’t get fast food or shop at a store because there would be no one there to check you out or stock the shelve and you couldn’t get gas because there would be no one to work at the gas stations. The people that work in the “loser” jobs do everyone in the world a lot of good and everyone depends on them and if we didn’t have them there would be a madness and no body to clean up after words because the garbage me would not be there to clean up the mess. The Losers that are in the world that work in the jobs that no one else wants to are very important and if we didn’t have them we would all be very unhappy. The people that work in like fast food restaurants or loser jobs are sometimes high school students because the owner are willing to higher the kids that don’t know how to do much or haven’t had a job before but sometimes there are older people that are also working in the “loser because they are trying to get back on their feet or they don’t know how to do anything else and they cant do anything else because maybe they didn’t complete high school or maybe they did and didn’t get into college and haven’t or cant get a different job.

Violence- the movie that we watched had a lot of violence in the movie the violence was with the black residents that lived in the area they were fighting about everything that they could for example just because someone drove by some other persons house they wanted to shoot them and just because someone looked at someone a certain way they wanted to bust a cap in their rear end and that is just what had happened to some kid look and a person a way and was talking and he ended up getting shot and that kids brother and his friends went a popped a cap in their rear ends.

Relationships- the movie told us about relationships also the movie showed how sometimes that people use not good words to describe a lady friend and that lady friend doesn’t like the way that they talk but they stay with them anyway because it makes them seam awesome because their boyfriend is a gang banger that likes to bust caps and drink alcohol. The movie also showed us how sometimes people mostly girls do favors for men for money so that that girl can go and buy some crack or other drugs.

Drugs- the movie showed us how some people mostly girls do small or even big flavors for men for money so that that girl can go out and buy her next hit or her next puff, drugs are bad for people and sometimes they make people that are addicted to them do bad thing that they are not proud of for money so that they can go out and buy their drugs or even kill others so that they can get their drugs. Drugs are not good and people should try and stay away from them or even if they are on them they should try and get off.

Family life- the movie showed us how sometimes family life can be difficult because maybe you don’t have a dad or a mom or maybe your mom likes one kid more than the others  and it makes the kids do bad things so that they can revolt against their parents, or maybe the kids try and do good in school or good in sports so that they can try and impress their parents so that their parents will love them more or think that they were not a mistake that the parents had.

Education- the movie showed us that some of the people that live in the ghetto don’t care about schooling and they look down on the other kids that do good in school or that try to do good in school, the movie showed that education doesn’t mean a lot to the kids that are in the ghetto and that the kids that are in the ghetto don’t want to leave the ghetto because it is the only thing that they know how to do so the kids stop going to school and go sell crack on the corner or something.

Respect- the movie shoed us that the ghetto kids showed respect for the gang bangers and the older kids that sold drugs or the kids that shot people but was it really respect or was it fear of being shot themselves the movie also showed us how the kids in the ghetto didn’t show any respect for any of the other people that were also in the ghetto with them they didn’t care that they were disrespecting there elders the kids disrespecting anyone that they wanted to because that is how they were raised and that’s how they learned.

Responsibility- the kids in the ghetto don’t learn responsibility at all because their parents don’t teach them or they just don’t care so that they don’t want to try and learn from their parents so that the kids that live in the ghetto so they don’t grow up to get jobs or go to school or have an education the kids just go out and if they want to get some money for some crack they go robbing people or store or they go and bust some caps in to peoples butts and just take their moneys.

CATFISH blog

we just watched the movie catfish and I was about the guy who was getting paintings form a person who he though was a little girl that was painting him pictures and he also fell in love with the little girls sister who turns out was not who he was talking to at all. the guy was talking to the little girls mother who was pretending that her little girl was the one that was painting the pictures but when it was really her. the lady was also pretending to be the older sister who the guy had fell in love with and after figuring out that it was all fake he still was friends with the lady and still talked to her. in my lifetime I have not had to deal with any Catfish but I also think that is because I don't really care about things like Facebook or twittering or what ever other stuff there is now all I do is text talk on my cell phone and sometimes snap chat my friends if I ever had to deal with a cat fish I am not really sure what I would do. I am just glad that I haven't had to deal with one and hope that I wont really have to.

stereotype blog

I think that the stereotypes about black people being good at basketball is false just because someone is tall and black doesn't mean that they are good at basketball, yes if they practice they could be good but all of the people that are in the NBA tall or not so tall have worked very hard to get where they are. Being tall gives you an advantage but just being tall wont make you good, like the article about the Jews that were very good at basketball they probably worked very hard to be good by practicing everyday and did the best they could do every day because if you practice enough at something eventually you will start to get better. The stereotype about Jews having better balance because they are shorter kind of makes senses because the closer something is to the ground the harder it is to push over like bull dogs or most dogs that are shorter they are closer to the ground and they don't fall over as much, but if you are tall and built you wont be as easy to push over either, but if you take two people that are about the same weight and build the shorter person will be harder to push over because they have shorter and more then likely stronger legs. I don't think that height or race makes a difference in how good you are in a sport because the more you practice the better you will become at the sport. Also the Korean player that plays basketball he had to have practiced very hard just like anyone that is good at basketball, because most people don't just wake up one day and have never played a sport before and are all of a sudden good at the sport you have to practice and shoot hoops to improve your odds of making a basket.

Alien worker

The alien worker that come over form Mexico so that they can make money to feed their families are very hard working people that are determined to work because they have to wait for seven hours for the bus to take them from Mexico to Arizona so that they can pick lettuce heads for the owners of the fields. The workers from Mexico come over to the united states of America so that they can work the jobs many people won’t or don’t want to work for as much as the Mexican workers work for because it is not enough money for them to break their backs but the people that come over form Mexico don’t care how much they get paid because there aren’t any jobs over in Mexico for them to work. The Mexican workers have long hard days to work but they don’t care that they do because they want to give their families a good life or just a better chance at a life that is better than they had.  I think that the Mexicans that come over to America to look for work are helping out our farmers because, the farmers don’t have to work as hard or pay some other Americans to work for more money doing the same job that they are paying the Mexicans to do for cheap.

animal farm blog

The book animal farm was based on when Russia was communist and stallions rise to power in the soviet union the book has the farmer who was the power and then the animals decided that they would revolt against the farmer and take the farm over for themselves. The farm was run by snowball and his plan was like by mostly by all the animals on the farm and then snowball and napoleon started to fight about everything and finally napoleon kicked snowball out of the farm with his guard dogs. At the start of the book the animals thought that they were all in power but soon after the pigs decided that they would step over the other animals and make them lower then dirt and the pigs would build them selves up and not work and be just like the humans.
At the end of the book the pigs end up just like the humans and use the other animals just like the humans did and the pigs end up playing card with the humans and the other animals can not tell the difference between the humans and the pigs.
The animals worked harder then the pigs ever did but the pigs still thought that they were the top of the food chain even though the pigs just sat around and did nothing, the horse Boxer did the most work out of everyone and in the end he when and got sold to the glue factory because the pigs didn't need him around anymore and they thought that he was all used up so they sold him so they could have money for other things. The pigs ended up ling to all of the animals so that the pigs could get what they wanted like sleeping in the house instead of the barn and when the rules said they couldn't the pigs went and changed them. The pigs also change the rules that said that no animals could drink alcohol so they went and changed the rules so that they could.
The  conflict theory explains why the animals started the "war" with the humans because they didn't want to work for the farmer anymore but the pigs made everything worse then what it was because the pigs were just as bad or maybe worse then the farmer was because the farmer didn't make the animals build a windmill and he also didn't sell his best horse to the glue factory.

.The fellas that are in Barcelona that are boxing and to try and stay off the streets and try and better them selves. I think this is a good way for them to cope with there problems and it could also help them in the long run to help cope with their problems as well. I think that the instructor is doing these kids some good because he is trying to help these kids and young adults stay out of jail and off the streets. The kids in that are boxing to help themselves stay off the streets and out of trouble are doing a very smart thing because instead of going out and stealing a car, or going and robbing a store they go to the gym and punch some bags. This could help them out in the long run by helping them cope with their problems. The kids that are boxing might even get good enough to make it into a career or a hobby that they could end up being paid for.

Social Class

I think that if her and her sons try hard enough at anything can happen, but if they quit and don't try they wont get to achieve there goals. Tammy and her kids would have to work a lot harder then a lot of people would have to because they are poor and they don't have the same opportunities that a lot of people have in America. One of Tammy's sons tries to make it above the class that he is in and if he tried as hard as he could to do everything he can that he could go to a good college and he could achieve his goals but he would have to work hard at them and not give up hope that one day he could get a good job. To make it to the top from the bottom like almost anyone would like to do it takes lots of will power and determination because if they want to achieve their goals. In our high school the only thing that social class effects is the car you drive and the cloths that you wear, the kids that are in our school don't really care about social status but mostly everyone that is in our school is in the same or about the same social class, so it doesn't bother many of us. In bigger school I don't know if it is the same or different but from the movie that we saw I would say it is a lot different from the little schools like ours.
In my house we have A bigger T.V but its broken it has a big black line that runs right down the left side of the T.V and we do have some a newer vehicle so I would say we are in the little higher part of the middle class. When I think about the things that I have like my truck for instance I have a little older truck and yes it could be newer and it could be older but I don't want to get rid of it because I like it how it is and I want to keep It, not just because it is kind of a truck that is a little harder to come by but because it is still in good shape. In my house we eat wheat bread  because my mother doesn't want her kids to eat high fructose corn syrup and she tries not to buy things that are not good for us to eat. I like the things that I own but in the end they are just things, things that can be replaced if needed. In the end does it really matter what you drive and what you wear? I believe that the biggest things in life are your friends and family.
   

the conflict thoery

The conflict theory explains the reason that people try and become better then the other people because they want to be in power and control the others that are not in power but they many people that are poor will come together and will fight the few that are rich so that they can be into power so they can be in control of the rich with their power. The people that have the wealth want to keep it and not give up any of their “power” that they have over the others that are poor and the poor want to become the few so they can have power and you can see it in everyday life, the big wealthy people stepping on the little poor people so they can make more and more money and have more “power”. What is the function of social class structure? The function of the social class puts people in groups that are defined by how much money they make in a year that  they can live on What conflict naturally exists between social class structures? The people that are at the bottom are trying to get to the top of the class and the people on top don’t want them to make it to their level because they think they are better. What symbols do we associate with the various social class structures in our society? Money and poverty high class suits and old ragged clothes. How would you change the social class structure? Break it into more groups so there are more places that people fit.

heroin blog

The movie that we had just watched was about the dangers of heroin and uppers in the movie at first I thought that the three were going to sell their heroin that they got and go out and make something of themselves with the money that they got. I thought that the mom was going to get a little bit thinner and go and be on the T.V like she wanted, I also thought that the two kids that were dating would be able to start up there business and his girlfriend could be a fashion designer and everything would be all good. When the movie started to go south because of the peoples drug addiction I knew that how I thought It would go wasn't going to happen because the movie was trying so show that everything might be alright right away but soon your addiction will be too much for you to handle and you will be forced to make yourself do things that you don't want to do to get the money for your drugs. The movie was a good movie because it tries to teach people the bad about doing drugs and something’s that might happen if you take drugs because everything might be good at first but after some time of taking drugs everything might go bad and things could not turn out the way that you expected them to turn out. The boy that had his arm cut off I don’t think he was thinking to himself oh when I stick myself with this needle I am going to lose my arm, No he probably wasn’t thinking that way. This movie goes to show you that things might not always turn out the way you want them to be even if they start out good at first they could always go south in the end. I thought this movie was going to turn out to be a happy story about 4 people doing drugs but no it showed that when you shoot up heroin don’t always poke yourself in the same stop change spots every time you shoot up.

Heroin drugs blog

In the video that we had just watch it showed how people that use the drug heroin have to keep taking the drug otherwise they get "Dope sick" and if they cant shoot up they can get very sick from it because the heroin messes with the brain and the brain needs it after words other wise it can get sick. The video also showed that in Canada there is a place were people can go to shoot up in a place that is clean with clean needles, so they don't risk getting an infection or any HIVs from sharing needles with others. I think that having a place set up for people to use there heroin is smart but is also very dumb because they are encoring the users to keep using and not stop instead of having a place where people can shoot up there should be a place that helps the uses get clean.

gaming

I think that the news article is right because when people have and Xbox or a PlayStation or a gaming system of any kind they are less likely to go out and hurt someone, because say there boss made them really mad at work so instead of coming home and beating his/ her wife or husband they can sit down turn on the T.V and game system and go beat up some person on a game, or steal a car and run from the cops, or get a new high score. Gaming can also give someone the chance to talk with their friends that are online about how his or her boss is not a nice person. Video games help reduce violence because the people that were out on the streets running around like hooligans are now sitting at home and running around and being a hooligans on their games.

Unleaded gas has also reduces the violent crime rate because now there is no lead in gas, because lead increase the risk of brain defects and witch makes people less likely to get jobs and know how to do something’s that many people would know or have common sense like how robbing a bank is bad or hurting someone is bad. Also I think that when the city torn down the big apartments made a drop in crime because all of the criminals where not all in one place and it was very easy to just brake into some other persons house.

Being a good person

The other day I had to stop at Alco and while I was walking thought the door there was this elderly woman and she had a cart full of groceries so I held open both of the doors that she needed to go out open for her so she could walk thought with her cart. After I held the doors open for her I asked the elderly woman if she wanted help putting her things in her trunk. She said "That would be very kind of you to do." So I helped her put her things in her trunk and I told her to have a nice day and she told me the same.
The snack man was a very brave man because he didn't know what would happen when he stepped into that fight on the subway. This man didn't know if the man and woman would still fight around him or if he would get hit or pushed but the snack man was a very good person to brake up the fight on the subway.
The man that was going to get robbed down in the subway was a very caring person to take that teenager that was going to rob him to dinner and give him $20 so that he would hopefully view things in a different way and help people other than rob them.
